Did You Lose a Tooth? Here's What You Should Do..
As soon as your tooth has been knocked out, follow these steps, and we’ll have the best chance to save it.
1. Retrieve the tooth – If your tooth fell out, find it and pick it up, but avoid touching the root, which is easy to damage and almost impossible to repair.
2. Clean your mouth and tooth – Rinse out your mouth with cold water. As you spit any particles out, watch for pieces of the tooth. If any are found, you should save these and bring to our office. Next, gently rinse your tooth with lukewarm water, but don’t scrub it.
3. If you can, put the tooth in the socket – If it’s possible, hold the tooth in your socket. The environment of your mouth will preserve the root for as long as possible. Alternatively, you can put some cold milk in a container and keep the tooth in it until you arrive at our office
4. Give us a call and come in ASAP – Give us a call at (503) 626-7007 and we’ll work to get you in for an appointment as soon as possible.
