TEETH WHITENING
Have you ever wanted a whiter, brighter smile? Have you ever wondered if teeth whitening is right for you? Or maybe you have already tried whitening toothpastes or strips and weren’t satisfied with the results? Do your teeth look stained or discolored?
Teeth can darken when stains build up on the enamel over time. Staining usually comes from foods and drinks such as coffee, wine, tea, cola drinks and tobacco. Dream Smiles offers a safe and effective, in-office teeth whitening process. We also have some professional take home options for you. Here is some additional information to see if it’s right for you.
Who Should Get Their Teeth Whitened?
Don’t be shy about asking about teeth whitening. Almost everybody is interested in having a whiter, brighter, vital and beautiful smile. Your smile says a lot about you. Teeth whitening is an easy way to make an immediate improvement in your smile. Let’s face it, whiter teeth are prettier than yellow or brown teeth. Feel your best and be more confident with a brighter smile.
Whitening toothpastes can remove some surface stains, but are not always the best option if you’re looking for a safe whitening method. Those products can be abrasive and cause serious damage to your enamel if they are used too frequently. That’s why it’s so important to consult with your dental professional to see about safe methods to whiten your teeth, especially if your teeth are naturally sensitive.
It is important to note that any sort of dental work such as crowns, veneers or fillings will not be whitened by this process.
What Products Do We Recommend?
There are many good professional products for in-office whitening. We can whiten your teeth in a single appointment. Then you may want to increase your results with a take home system of custom made trays. We have several different product options for you and we would love to discuss your options and the best solution that is right for you.
What Can You Expect From A Whitening Appointment?
You should expect to spend about two hours with our dental professional for the in-office whitening procedure. During this appointment, we will also take impressions of your teeth to custom make whitening trays especially for you for additional take home whitening, if that is the system you choose. Some systems like the Opalescence GO do not require impressions or custom trays.

After determining the current shade of your teeth, we apply a protective barrier to cover your gum tissue, and then we apply three separate 20 minute applications of the whitening gel to your teeth. We’ll take photos for you too, so you can see the results. At the end of the appointment we will compare the shade of the teeth (before and after) and apply a fluoride gel to help protect your teeth from any sensitivity. Sensitivity can be a side effect of teeth whitening but normally subsides after a day or two.
